Encore Services
Advancing professional and personal skills to help persons served become socially connected citizens is Encore’s mission, and we do this by providing leadership opportunities for people with disabilities and their supports. Encore believes it isn’t always what you know but who you know, which is why we also teach participants how to build social capital and become more actively engaged in their communities.
Our Advancement Leadership training program is designed to be a side-by-side training for people with disabilities and the Direct Service Providers (DSPs) who support them. This unique approach teaches skills on Leadership, Advocacy, Employment, Community Engagement, and Finding Your Voice with many lessons in development. The program consists of small groups made up of individuals with disabilities and DSPs watching Encore-produced animated videos and following specific lesson plans on the topics above. Each participant with a disability will learn skills that will support them while accessing services, and DSPs will learn how to better support the individuals they serve.
Encore has also developed a virtual, year-long Leadership Bootcamp for people who support individuals with disabilities. This program involves a monthly Speaker Series, LinkedIn Learning Training, Monthly virtual Lunch and Learns, and mentoring sessions.
